Among the top-ranking locations for the most Google reviews are places like the Trevi Fountain in Rome, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Each of these places has over 200,000 reviews on Google maps alone.
The winner for the most reviews, however, has a staggering 280,000 reviews—and a stunning 4.9-star rating.

Masjid al-Haram, also known as the Great Mosque of Mecca, is the most reviewed place on Google maps. And we can only expect that number to rise well past 300,000 in the near future.
Masjid al-Haram is the largest mosque in the world and sees over 2 million visitors annually. It can house up to 4 million worshippers at once, and while this might seem like overkill, here’s why it needs the space.
The Great Mosque of Mecca is considered the House of God. This location dictates which direction Muslims are meant to pray in—they should always face this holy site.
Inside the walls of Masjid al-Haram is the Kaaba—an architectural block of black and gold that roughly translates to the cube. In the Islamic faith, the Great Mosque of Mecca which holds the Kaaba is the holiest site in the world.
One of the five pillars of Islam is the Hajj which is the pilgrimage to Mecca. Every Muslim must travel, if able, to the Masjid al-Haram and encircle the Kaaba seven times at least once in their lifetime.
No wonder there are so many visitors… and Google reviews.
